i’ve been thinking about this passage (from book 3 of catherynne valente’s fairyland books, aka the girl who soared over fairyland and cut the moon in two) for so long. the phrase ‘everyone is hungry all the time. everyone is starving’ … it cuts deep. i should make some kind of parallels post about hunger as its own entity
